Scriptoscope for Word
Review the draft you are writing inside Microsoft Word. Scriptoscope reads the open document and shows its risk findings beside the text, so you see where terms deviate while you are still writing.
What it does
The add-in reviews the document that is open in Word against your playbook and real market terms. Nothing has to be uploaded first, and you never leave Word.
- Run a review on the open document: choose the request type, which side you represent and whose draft it is, then read the risk findings beside the text.
- Show in document selects the clause a finding is about. Add comment puts the finding on it as a Word comment. Insert as tracked change puts the suggested language in as a revision you accept or reject.
- Check one clause against similar language from real agreements, ranked by how closely the wording matches.
How to install
For your organization (Microsoft 365 administrator)
In the Microsoft 365 admin center, open Settings, then Integrated apps, then Upload custom apps, then Office Add-in, then Provide link to manifest file. Paste the manifest link below, choose the users or groups who should have it, and Deploy. It can take up to a day to appear in Word.
For yourself (sideload)
- Word for Mac: in Finder, press Go to Folder (Shift Command G), go to
~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word/Data/Documents/wef, and create the wef folder if it is missing. Put the downloaded manifest there, quit Word fully and reopen it, then choose Insert, Add-ins, My Add-ins, Developer Add-ins, Scriptoscope. - Word on the web: open Home, Add-ins, More add-ins, My add-ins, Upload my add-in, and pick the manifest.
- Word for Windows: open Insert, Add-ins, My Add-ins, Upload My Add-in, or use a shared folder catalog your administrator has set.

How to connect
In Word, open Scriptoscope from the Home ribbon (Review contract) and press Connect to Scriptoscope. Scriptoscope opens in your browser, where you are already signed in; type the code shown in Word. Connections last two weeks, and you can disconnect any Word at any time from Scriptoscope. Word never sees your password.

Security
- Nothing leaves the document until you press Review contract or Check selection.
- The document goes to your organization workspace, the same place your other reviews live.
- The add-in holds no password. It connects with a code you approve in your browser, and any connection can be ended at any time.
